The Nenskra HPP is a 280MW hydropower project on Nenskra River in the Svaneti District of NW Georgia. The main project components are expected to comprise a 125m to 130m high dam on the upper Nenskra river creating a live storage of about 176 million m3. The dam will capture the flows of the Nenskra River and the adjacent Nakra river upstream of the existing Khudoni HPP reservoir, exploiting the available head of 725m.
The Project comprises the development, construction and operation of Nenskra Hydro Power Plant with c. 280 MW of installed capacity and expected electricity output of 1,196 GWh assuming 50% load factor. The Project represents a significant infrastructural priority for the country and benefits of the highest support from the Government of Georgia (“GoG”).
