A 125m high, 870m long asphalt face rock fill dam (AFRD) of on the upper Nenskra River
• A 8.7m high and 44m long weir on the Nakra River.
• A 12.5km long by 3.5m diameter free flow transfer tunnel which will divert water from behind the Nakra weir and into the Nenskra reservoir.A 15.1km long by 4.5m diameter concrete lined headrace tunnel, pressure shaft and penstocks totaling 1,791m will be build.
• An above ground powerhouse located on the left bank of the Nenskra River that is 17km downstream from the dam. This will contain 3x93 MW Pelton power generation units.
The Project comprises the development, construction and operation of Nenskra Hydro Power Plant with c. 280 MW of installed capacity and expected electricity output of 1,196 GWh assuming 50% load factor. The Project represents a significant infrastructural priority for the country and benefits of the highest support from the Government of Georgia (“GoG”).
