Meeting with Chuberi residents and local government representatives was held on 15th of May, 2016. At least 120 villagers were present at peak. Also 2 experts joined in the meeting to explain technical issues such as noise and dam safety. They explained to the locals that in village vicinity, noise will absolutely reach permissible by international norms. Experts stated that every field related to project was studied, such as magnetic radiation that meets the standards; dam engineering studies, including a seismic impact, which confirms that the dam satisfies the safety regulations. All the landslides, which are situated in the reservoir zone, are identified and marked on the drawings. Their impact is assessed at a low risk.
The Project comprises the development, construction and operation of Nenskra Hydro Power Plant with c. 280 MW of installed capacity and expected electricity output of 1,196 GWh assuming 50% load factor. The Project represents a significant infrastructural priority for the country and benefits of the highest support from the Government of Georgia (“GoG”).
